In a bid to ensure the physical wellness and fitness of all
the people of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area, as well as maintaining
sound health, the immediate past chairman of the community, Honorable Shuaib
Ajidagba, also known as Ajifat organised its maiden annual fitness walk in
Lagos, last weekend…. (continue)

The crowd and supporters of Ajifat which boasts of over
10, 000 kicked off from Okoya Junction through Ojo Road to Alaba Express. Then Mosafejo
Road Iyana Ajegunle and after 2 hours, ended the walk at Jimoh Ojora Primary
school in Ojo Road.
Speaking on inspired the walk which is the first of its
kind in the LCDA, Ajifat maintained that walking is important for maintaining
physical fitness and contributes positively to maintaining sound health.

“This fitness walk is for all sundry, if you are suffering
from obesity, it would help you a lot. Fitness walk is an aerobic sport of
brisk, rhythmic, vigorous walking, intended to improve cardiovascular
efficiency, strengthen the heart, control weight gain, and reduce stress.  Ajifat Fitness Walk is the first ever fitness
walk in Ifelodun and it is going to be an annual event
These crowd is not a surprise to me.  They are over 10, 000, I feel so impressed because
I know people love me and they show it.

As the immediate past chairman, the people know what I have
done. When I was in the office, I introduced health mission and made sure
everybody benefited from it; both young and old. Free eyeglasses, free breast
cancer screening, free family planning and lots more.
Government is not all about when you are in office alone,
but all about continuity. When you make your people enjoy the dividends of your
position in office.”
Hon. Ajifat, also commented on the recent Local
Government tenure extension from 3 to 4 years by the governor of Lagos State,
Akinwunmi Amobode.

According to the honourable, it is a welcomed development;
“People are saying change and I believe that it means that everything would
change. The governor has made the tenure 4 years, instead of three. With this,
it has given us more time to finish our projects. Then we would have to create
more wards and carry more people along.”
The chairman concluded by assuring his people that he is
very prepared to come back for a second term and continue the good works he had
started in Ajeromi Ifelodun community.
“My people are solidly behind me. These crowd here is an assurance
that I am on the right track. I want to assure them that I’d not disappoint
them. If I am voted in again for the second tenure, aside continuity, I have
other plans which I don’t want to roll out now.

During my first tenure, have constructed about 18 roads, people
have gone to Mecca, Jerusalem. In terms of security, we carry every force along
by donating patrol vehicles and helping put very way we can. I gave out free
GCE forms annually, as well as free JAMB forms, free well equipped library, building
of schools. Free medical test and treatment to over 1000 people,  free breast
and cervical screening to over 500 people, free surgery to over 1000
people and as well  free medical
eyeglasses to over 1000 people.

I can’t mention all, but the people know the value I have added to the
community. I pray that Almighty Allah to continue to bless every one of them.”
