Nigerian music lovers reacted excitedly when Mavin Records, led by Don Jazzy, unveiled Iyanya as their new artiste on October 31, 2016.

The unveil was followed with the release of his song, ‘Up to something’ featuring Don Jazzy and Dr. Sid.
This was followed by the premiere of the song’s music video in December 2016.
Thenetng exclusively gathered that the video, directed by Gyo Gyimah, was shot in Ghana a week before Iyanya was unveiled as a Mavin.
It was also gathered that the Don Jazzy-produced song was recorded a month earlier.
Since then, Iyanya’s fans, especially the ladies, have been looking forward to new hits from the 2008 Project Fame West Africa winner.
He left MMMG – which he formerly co-owned with Ubi Franklin – after releasing three albums and hit songs, including ‘Kukere’, ‘Your Waist’, ‘Flavour’, and ‘Sexy Mama’.
However, the major reason Iyanya moved to Mavin is to revive his career.
Now it is three months already, fans and critics highly anticipate something fresh including more singles, an EP or album, as well as local and international tours.
