Troops of the Nigerian Army have recorded significant operational successes nationwide, k+lling over 14 terr+rists and intercepting N9 million in ransom in the past 48 hours, a source at Army Headquarters told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Several suspects were apprehended, and numerous kidn+pped victims were rescued during coordinated operations across multiple regions.
In the North-East, Operation HADIN KAI troops sustained offensive actions in Borno and Yobe States, k+lling 11 ISWAP/JAS terr+rists in ambushes, patrols, and follow-up exploitation operations in Bama, Konduga, and Guzamala Local Government Areas. Weapons, ammunition, motorcycles, bicycles, and logistics including energy drinks and food items were recovered. Three suspected ISWAP/JAS collaborators, including logistics suppliers, were arrested along the Konduga–Bama road with 700 packs of energy drinks, mobile phones, and cash.
In the North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA troops engaged terr+rists in Zurmi and Maradun Local Government Areas of Zamfara, forcing them to retreat into surrounding bushes. “In a major breakthrough, troops in Kaduna State intercepted a vehicle conveying N9 million ransom, meant for the release of six kidn+pped children abd¥cted in Katsina State,” the source said.
In the North-Central, troops foiled kidn+pping attempts and rescued victims in Plateau, Nasarawa, and Taraba. Several victims were freed after kidn+ppers fled on sighting troops, while five suspected kidn+ppers were arrested in Kaduna State.
In the South-South, anti-illegal bunkering operations in Akwa Ibom led to the seizure of about 600 litres of illegally refined AGO, handled according to operational directives.
