OAP Dotun‘s wife, Omotayo, has filed for divorce citing forced abortion, domestic viol£nce and emotional abuse as the reasons.
In the suit numbered “GWD/PET/25/2021” and dated 2021, filed before before A.
I Akobi of the FCT high court, Omotayo cited “unending emotional abuse, forced abortion, and vicious domestic violence” that she said has adversely impacted her health and general well-being.
According to court documents signed by Omotayo’s lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the OAP “forced his wife to abort her third pregnancy as a married woman.”
A source who spoke to TheCable Lifestyle on the matter said Dotun stormed Omotayo’s Abuja residence on December 14, 2022, with some policemen and forcefully broke into her premises.
The source alleged that the OAP assaulted her gateman and staff, forcing Omotayo into hiding.
Omotayo, through her lawyer, petitioned the deputy inspector general (DIG) of police at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. She made claims of unlawful entry, malicious damage, criminal trespass, and unlawful use of policemen.
The petition, dated December 14 and stamped to show receipt by the DIG’s office, said the invasion left Omotayo in “distress and fear of imminent danger in the hands of the defendant who remains volatile and unpredictable”.
In the petition to the DIG, Omotayo’s lawyer wrote in part: “We humbly request that you use your good office to conduct a dispassionate investigation and cause an appropriate action in line with the law to be taken,
We request that the identity of the Nigeria police officers who engaged in the unlawful act at the bidding of the defendant be made known to the public and necessary action be taken against them.”
It would be recalled that Dotun took to his instagram page on Friday afternoon, December 16, to call out her brother-in-law, singer Dbanj, for allegedly trying to dafame him.
The couple tied the knot in 2013 and has two kids together.
