Napoli, the reigning Serie A champions, are determined to retain their star player and leading scorer from the previous season, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, and they are sparing no effort to achieve this goal.
Osimhen’s exceptional performances during Napoli’s triumphant title-winning campaign, their first in 33 years, have attracted interest from prominent European clubs. In response, Napoli has made a significant move by presenting Osimhen with a lucrative two-year contract extension offer. The proposed deal includes an annual salary of N6.5 billion, consisting of €6.5 million base pay and an additional €1 million in bonuses, as reported by reliable sources.
According to Skysports’ report on Monday, Napoli is currently engaged in advanced negotiations to extend Victor Osimhen’s contract until 2027, accompanied by a substantial salary increase.
With two years remaining on his existing contract, Osimhen had previously expressed his desire for an improved deal worth €7 million. Responding to his request, Napoli has now presented their offer, which includes a release clause set at £170 million.
Assuring the fans about Osimhen’s future, Napoli’s newly appointed manager, Rudi Garcia, confirmed that the talented striker will be staying with the club for the upcoming season. Garcia stated, “Of course, I have spoken to Osimhen, who wants to stay here to continue his remarkable journey with Napoli.”
“He is genuinely committed to remaining here, relishing the opportunity to achieve greater feats with the team.”
In the previous season, Osimhen demonstrated his prowess on the field, registering an impressive record of 26 goals and five assists in just 32 league appearances for Napoli.
