AY recently apologized publicly to singer Davido for jokes that were deemed insensitive regarding Davido’s personal life.
In a candid discussion with media personality Toke Makinwa, AY delved into the challenges he faced after bloggers misconstrued his jests, leading to hurtful reactions and misunderstandings.
“As a human being, I’m affected. When that joke came out, the timing was wrong due to sensationalism taking over. There was ongoing drama online between David and Amaju Pinnick the same day. Despite the context, bloggers seized it without consideration.
Nigerians, without investigating, wished harm upon my newborn child based solely on a misleading headline,” AY expressed, highlighting the impact of misleading reporting on his personal life.

AY expressed a heightened level of caution regarding the jokes he shares, especially during his upcoming UK tour, acknowledging the need to avoid stirring controversy or misunderstanding with his humor.
