In a candid revelation, popular Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa has unveiled a deeply distressing chapter from her childhood, sharing the tragic loss of her parents in a fire accident.
During the latest episode of her podcast, while in conversation with comedian Ayo Makun, known as AY, Toke Makinwa opened up about the harrowing incident that has haunted her throughout her life.
Reflecting on the traumatic event, Toke disclosed,
“I’ve been a victim of a house fire when I was a kid, and unfortunately, both my parents died as a result of that. That’s one of my biggest fears.”
Expressing his sympathies, AY responded, “Sorry about that. I’m just hearing this for the first time.”
Toke Makinwa then shared her experience upon learning about a recent fire incident at AY’s Lagos residence.
“I woke up to about 78 missed calls on the day of the incident. And I opened my phone and saw my house on Instablog.”
Grateful for her family’s absence during the distressing incident, she expressed gratitude for their safety amid such a shocking revelation. This revelation followed the fire incident that occurred at AY’s residence in August.
