Nigerian singer Okafor Uchenna Victor, popularly known as Mr Real, has raised concerns about unpaid dues from his colleagues D’banj and Mr Eazi in the latest episode of the Terms And Conditions podcast.
Mr Real claimed that despite his contributions to their songs ‘Issa Banger’ and ‘Overload,’ both artists have failed to settle the debts owed to him. He expressed disappointment in their lack of response to his calls and messages regarding the pending payments.
He recounted,
“I have a song with D’banj… The song blew… I’m not saying I’m being ungrateful for what you’ve done. But give me what is rightly mine. It’s my right. The song is being used in movies, even American movies, and I haven’t received any royalty.”
Regarding ‘Overload,’ Mr Real emphasized the absence of a contract or proper agreement. He lamented,
“There is no slipt sheet. He [Mr Eazi] didn’t give me anything. Till today, there is nothing.”
Expressing his expectation for fair treatment, Mr Real highlighted the need for reciprocity in the industry, especially when extending favors to colleagues. He emphasized the desire for equitable compensation, saying, “When I do you a favour, I expect you to render same to me.”
He concluded by urging for support and fairness, stating,
“We also need their kind of money. We want to live the Island life too. You guys should help us… I know if I message you, you won’t answer me. If I call D’banj, he doesn’t pick up. Mr Eazi doesn’t pick up my call.”
