Nigerian transgender, Jay Boogie has spoken about the bitterness he received from Nigerians after he begged for for financial assistance following an alleged botched plastic surgery.
The transgender influencer said in November that he was “dying” after undergoing cosmetic surgery in Lekki, Lagos, on October 30. He added that the female doctor at the clinic did a shoddy job and this landed him in the hospital. He begged Nigerians to donate to his medical bills as all his savings had dried up.
Kind-hearted Nigerians launched a GoFundMe account to gather donations for him, but they later returned to say they intended to return the money to the public because Jay Boogie was not being truthful. They also rubbished claims that both his kidneys had failed as reported by a medical doctor close to Jay Boogie.
Jay Boogie later revealed he had been discharged from the hospital and is now recovering. He denied scamming Nigerians and claimed he really needed financial assistance to offset his medical bill, but he admitted he never had kidney failure.
In an interview with Chude Jidonwo, he was asked to address the backlash he received from Nigerians when he was in the hospital.
Jay Boogie, whose real name is Daniel Anthony Nsika, said many of those who bully him publicly and on social media for his lifestyle are sending him private messages in his DM, asking to hook up with him. He claimed that many of them beg to be “inside” him so they can experience what it’s like being with a “she-male”.
He added that he chooses not to expose them despite the things they say about him on public platforms because “they are not worth it”. He also revealed that he received death threats from many Nigerians threatening to harm him if they met him.
“Nigeria is not for me o. No, God forbid,” he said.
Asked if he was surprised that Nigerians donated to him when he cried out for help. he explained that he really was because he had no idea some people liked him.
He added: “Nigerians, they have the good, the bad, and the ugly. I never knew that those good ones, they liked me and all that by supporting me…”
He said that some people came into his DM and asked him to repent first before they would donate to him.
“Can you imagine?” He asked.
