Renowned Nigerian skit maker and artist, Carter Efe, opened up about his unique journey to fame in an exclusive interview with an urban magazine. Unveiling his past as a skilled tailor before skyrocketing to stardom, Efe credited his innate comedic talent as the driving force behind his success.
Recalling his early days, the ‘Machala’ crooner highlighted his natural knack for comedy, stating,
“I’ve been funny right from birth. I’ve been doing stand-up comedy since I was in school.” Despite initially pursuing tailoring, Efe’s passion for art and creativity fueled his transition into the world of skit making.
During his appearance on Hip TV’s ‘Trending,’ hosted by reality star KimOprah, Efe shared the pivotal moment that shifted his trajectory. He reminisced,
“When Broda Shaggi posted a challenge on Instagram, I participated and emerged as the winner, securing a PS5 prize worth N300,000. This marked a turning point in my life.”
Following his win, Efe’s decision to remain in Lagos, armed with the PS5 prize money, propelled his dedication to skit production. He candidly revealed,
“I used the N300,000 to cover my transport expenses for shooting skits, staying with a friend for accommodation.”
