Moet Abebe, a popular face in Nollywood and media, recently shared a distressing experience of sexual harassment that almost pushed her out of the acting world.
Speaking candidly on the Bahd And Boujee Podcast, co-hosted with reality star Tolani Baj, Abebe revealed the chilling moment she encountered a disturbing situation with a prominent producer.
Reflecting on her initial days in the movie industry, Abebe recounted a distressing encounter:
“When I got into the [movie] industry, there was a lot of sexual harassment. I walked into the office of a big producer and he just whipped out his manhood on his table. That image never left my head.”
Tolani Baj, visibly concerned, sought further details: “What did you do, Moet? How did you handle that situation?”
Abebe confessed, “I ran out of his office. And from that day, I never wanted to do this acting thing. Sometimes I look back and I’m like, ‘Maybe if when I ran away, I had gone to another producer, maybe I would’ve been some huge actress by now.’”
The disturbing incident shook Abebe to the core, casting doubts on her passion for acting. Her openness about this traumatic episode sheds light on the pervasive issue of sexual harassment prevalent in the entertainment industry, highlighting the struggles and challenges faced by aspiring talents.
