Popular Nigerian singer Mayorkun, known offstage as Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, expressed his frustration with Calabar following what seemed to be a disappointing encounter.

In a candid message, Mayorkun conveyed his sentiments, expressing a desire to wake up from what he described as a dreadful experience or even a nightmare. He sent his regards to other artists set to perform at events in Calabar, wishing them luck, though he refrained from delving into further details.
His precise words were: “I just want to wake up from this dream bro. Nightmare is a better word! CALABAR, You’ll probably NEVER EVER see me again, good luck to the other artistes coming for your festivals tho. Izz gone! no wam!*”
