Emeka Ike, the renowned Nollywood actor, shared a distressing account of how allegations from his estranged wife, Suzanne Emma, led to the loss of his assets and access to his children.
Speaking on the Channels Television show Rubbin’ Minds hosted by Hero Daniels, Ike disclosed that Emma’s accusations of assault caused significant financial losses, including the closure of a school and a substantial investment worth millions of naira.
The dissolution of their 14-year marriage in 2017 by the Lagos Island Customary Court was prompted by Emma’s plea due to alleged incessant battery. Ike, in a heartrending revelation, expressed his bewilderment at the situation, stating,
“I don’t beat this lady. What’s going on?”
The actor detailed how he refrained from addressing the allegations online due to social media bullying, which intensified his agony. He highlighted that despite supporting Emma’s higher education, he eventually realized that his efforts were not reciprocated with love.
Moreover, Ike recounted the emotional turmoil during the divorce proceedings, where he and his family members pleaded with Emma not to end the marriage. He recalled the poignant scene in court, where they knelt, imploring her not to proceed, unable to comprehend her decision.
In a startling revelation, Ike suggested that his ex-wife might have been coerced or manipulated by certain individuals into divorcing him, referring to them as “gunmen” she was involved with.
