The Lagos State Domestic and s3xual Violence Agency has confirmed that Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has been added to the Lagos State S+x Offenders Register following the completion of his prison sentence for s+xually ass@ulting a minor.

The actor, convicted in 2021 for ass@ulting a 14-year-old girl, had recently been released. A viral but unverified video showed him seated in a vehicle shortly after his release, appearing relieved and stating that he needed rest.

The update from the state government came after false claims circulated that the Court of Appeal had cleared him. The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, SAN, dismissed the rumours as false and irresponsible, emphasising that the conviction still stands. He also warned actor Yomi Fabiyi and other individuals spreading the misinformation to desist from misleading the public.

In a statement posted on X, the Domestic and S+xual Vi%lence Agency reaffirmed the Attorney-General’s position and confirmed that Baba Ijesha’s name has now been formally entered into the S+x Offenders Register, in line with Section 37 of the Lagos State Domestic and S+xual Vi%lence Agency Law of 2021. The agency explained that this step is part of efforts to protect minors, promote accountability, and ensure the public has access to accurate information.

Comedienne Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, had earlier urged the government to include his name in the register during an Instagram live session on November 15, 2025.
