The highly anticipated BBNaija Season 9 reunion show premiered with intense drama as former housemates and ex-lovers, Zion and Chinwe, reignited their unresolved issues. What started as a calm conversation quickly turned heated when Zion claimed he was the one who ended their relationship due to a “disconnect in life goals.”
“I basically ended things because I felt like we were moving in different directions,” Zion said during the session with show host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
But Chinwe wasn’t having it.
“What Zion will not do is sit here and lie on me,” she snapped. “You didn’t break up with me — you ghosted me after I gave you money!”
Chinwe detailed a hurtful incident where she had begged Zion to spend time with her before her trip, only for him to go clubbing and switch off his phone. He reportedly ignored her and even passed by her area the next day without stopping by — on his way to a friend’s place.
The revelation that stunned viewers the most was Chinwe’s claim that Zion reached out to her for financial help after the show. She said she gave him money, but just three days later, he vanished without a word.
“Zion came back to me, asked me for money and I gave it to him. Not up to three days later, he ghosted me. That was the point I knew this wasn’t love anymore. I was just giving and getting nothing in return — Zion never even took me out,” she revealed, holding back tears.
She also hinted that her honest comments during the show led to tension with Zion’s family and friends, who allegedly disliked her for speaking the truth.
The reunion’s first episode has left viewers buzzing, with many taking sides and others calling for more receipts in the coming episodes. One thing is clear — the love may be over, but the drama is just beginning.
