Belgian YouTuber Storm De Beul’s tragic final message to his family has come to light following his death in a snowstorm during a trek in Sweden.
The 22-year-old adventurer, known for his YouTube channel StormOutdoorsy with about 2,600 subscribers, documented his solo journeys through Northern Europe.
Despite the dire conditions, his last words to his grandmother reflected his optimism: “It is snowing heavily here. But don’t worry, I’ll survive, you know.”
Storm was trekking in northern Sweden when he got caught in a powerful blizzard on October 29. In a video sent to a friend, the harsh winds around his tent were visible, according to Belgian news outlet 7sur7.
At around 2 a.m., he contacted Swedish emergency services, reporting injuries and requesting assistance. It is believed he was attempting to hike nine miles back to his car when the situation became fatal.
Rescue teams launched a search in the early hours of October 30 and discovered his body along the route between his campsite and his car.
