Grammy award winner, Wizkid is 32 today!
Nigerian talented singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun known as Machala by his fans is turning a new chapter in his life today.
The singer who is currently in Birmingham, United Kingdom had been receiving birthday wishes from his fans all over the world, as they declare today World Machala day.
Biography of Wizkid
Wizkid was born into an interfaith household with twelve female siblings. His mother is a Pentecostal Christian and his father practices Islam.
He began recording music at the age of 11 and released a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. In 2009, Wizkid signed a record deal with Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E).
He received the Best Music Video Grammy Award for Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl,” which was his first ever Grammy Award. According to the 2019 edition of New African magazine, Wizkid ranked among the Top 100 most influential Africans. He was named the winner of Artist of the Year at the Apple Music Awards in November 2021. (Africa).
