Last night, the South African rapper finally held the much-publicised #FillUpFNBStadium concert in Johannesburg and he has revealed that the night-long show attracted at least 68,000 fans, a record attendance for a home-based artiste without the help of an international act.
“History was made!!! Soccer city stadium was filled!!! 68000 tickets sold!!! Thank you!!! I love you!!!! God is good all the time!!!
# FillUpFnbStadium ,” the rapper tweeted this morning, and went on to thank fans, saying, “You guys were amazing tonight!!! Thank you sooooo much !!! We surely did # FillUpFnbStadium .”
This is not the first time Cassper Nyovest will be making history.
In 2015, the Mama I Made It rapper filled a 22,000 capacity arena for his #FillUpTheDome concert in Johannesburg. Ever since that feat, the genius has been holding his concert, with this year’s even attracting much more than many people anticipated.
The history-making moment has stirred reactions from all over South Africa, and some of those congratulating him for exalting South African hip hop includes the country’s Minister of Police Fikilie Mbalula and many others.
