Irish professional boxer and UFC star, Conor McGregor, will not face criminal charges after a woman alleged that he sexually assaulted her in a bathroom at NBA Finals in June.
The woman claimed she met McGregor at the game at Kaseya Center and was leaving the arena when his security told her he was asking for her in the bathroom where he forcibly kissed her and forced her to perform oral sex on him, which he denied.
In a statement on Tuesday evening, McGregor’s attorney said, “After a thorough investigation, including a review of videos and interviews with eyewitnesses, the authorities have concluded that there is no case to pursue against my client, Conor McGregor,” Daily Mail reports.
According to TMZ, prosecutors reportedly saw CCTV footage showing McGregor and his accuser going into the men’s restroom together for around five minutes and were seen together at a nightclub after the game.
However, an attendant in the same bathroom said they heard no ‘signs of distress or sounds that would corroborate that whatever was occurring was not consensual.’
TMZ also reported that the accuser told her mum she had met McGregor without alleging that she had been attacked and that when she made her allegations against the UFC star, she asked if he would settle or pay her off if she dropped her claims.
