No doubt, today is a party day for Mr.
Rufai Ladipo, an icon in the advertising and marketing communications business sector of the economy.
Rufai Ladipo has cause to celebrate. He left the country in 1979 and returned some years back, equipped with the requisite academic qualification for growth. And today, he is the President of Agile Communications Limited, a top advertising and marketing communications company that handles the briefs of ‘A’ brands.
Prior to establishing his company, Rufai Ladipo worked with STB McCann Lagos, a frontline Ad Agency in Nigeria where he joined as an Accounts Director and eventually left as the Chief Executive Officer some few years later.
Rufai Ladipo also had a stint at Scanad Nigeria as CEO, where his exemplary leadership role was evident as a change agent in 12 years, leading the growth of the Agency, both in turnaround and profitability.
As a Past President, Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, Former Council Member and Chairman, Membership Committee, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), it is not surprising that in 5 years, with Rufai leading the ‘TeamAgile,’ Agile Communications Ltd is celebrating its 5th anniversary, at the top.
The senior brand communications and marketing professional, with well-rounded client and agency experience in managing multi-million dollar brands, is also married to an equally successful wife, Mrs. Funmi Ajila-Ladipo, whose success in the turnaround of the fashion industry, as the current President of the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN), is almost legendary.
Rufai Ladipo’s wife today turns 55 and he could not hide his joy and excitement, as he thanked God in an early morning celebration, and acknowledged some of those who have given him strength throughout these past years.
“I thank all my close friends and notable clients, like First Bank of Nigeria and its subsidiaries in Ghana, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Gambia Democratic Republic of Congo, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Otunba Olasubomi Balogun, who is always asking, “how is your outfit doing, ” I thank you sir!

“Celebrating 5 as an organization also means that I must thank the SSA to President Mohammadu Buhari on Diaspora and Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Abike Dabiri Erewa. We thank you for your patronage, especially handling the ‘Point Of No Return’ celebration in Badagry. You’re indeed a gem!
“I also have to thank ‘Our Board of Directors’ under the leadership of Dr. Segun Aina, a renowned banker, Ms. Funmi Onajide, formerly of MTN and now Communications/Marketing consultant, and Mrs. Fummi Roberts, a legal luminary of note, for guiding us through and ensuring our corporate governance structure is top-notch. All of us at ‘Agile’ salute you all.
“Not to forget our pioneer employees, and current ones who are hoisting the Agile flag and working hard to make a difference.
“Also not forgetting our statutory and regulatory bodies such as APCON, we thank you. Same for our immediate constituency, AAAN (Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria) where I was a former president, we also thank you.
“How can I forget the Pavilion Parish of RCCG and Pastor Rufus Eyitayo who blessed the venture from Day 1? It’s been God’s work and it’s marvelous in our sight.
“On top of it all is my children and lovely wife, Funmilayo for believing in the Agile narrative. God bless you all.” he added.
Rufai Ladipo said that, Agile Communications Ltd has been a product of hard work and the grace of God. The best according to him, “is surely yet to come as Agile continues to blaze the trail in its sector.”
