The judge in Dr. Dre’s divorce case ordered the Hip Hop mogul to pay his estranged wife $1.55 million in legal fees. The ruling comes after the producer was previously asked to pay Nicole Young $2 million as a result of their impending divorce.
According to the judge, it was estimated that Nicole Young’s legal fees totaled $3 million. Dr. Dre has been ordered to pay $1 million in addition to another $550,000 in costs related to the case. While Dre’s contribution covers Nicole’s bill through July 2, 2021, the judge did not make it clear if he will have to cover more of Nicole’s costs after that date.
In July, Dr. Dre was ordered to pay $293,306 a month in spousal support. In the ruling, it was stated that Dre would continue the payments until Nicole remarries or until the death of either party. Nicole will also maintain the same health insurance plan as she did when she and Dre were married. Any other insurance will be paid from Nicole’s own pocket.
Earlier this month, Dr. Dre filed a separate lawsuit against Nicole for allegedly embezzling over $350,000 from his recording studio business. Sources have since stated that Nicole returned the money and that it was taken out of a joint account that she and Dre shared.
Nicole Young filed for divorce last year after 24 years of marriage to Dr. Dre.
