American rapper Dr. Dre and his ex-wife Nicole Young have officially reached an agreement in their divorce proceedings with Dre agreeing to pay Young a whopping sum of $100million.
According to TMZ, Dre, whose estimated net worth is $820 million, agreed to pay Nicole $50 million now and an additional $50 million in a year.
In exchange, Dre gets to keep 7 of the properties they own, including a Malibu home, 2 homes in Calabasas, and 4 properties in the L.A. area, including the $100 million Brentwood estate.
In addition, Dre gets full rights to his master recordings, trademarks and interests in various partnerships and trusts. He also keeps all of their Apple stocks, which includes the proceeds from the sale of Beats by Dre.
The former couple’s vehicles will be divided somewhat more evenly, with Young getting to keep four, while her ex-husband will keep six. She’ll also keep all of her pricy jewelry, as well as all of the funds that she had managed throughout her marriage to Dre.
After she filed for divorce, her ex placed several of their belongings in storage, but she will be able to reclaim all the items that were hers. She will be responsible for paying her own legal fees, which will have amounted to millions of dollars after the lengthy divorce batt!e.
Sources connected to Dre told TMZ that Nicole could have actually gotten a bigger piece of the pie had she settled a year ago. One of those sources said, “She could have even been on the field for the Super Bowl halftime show as a friendly ex-wife.”
Young, who filed for divorce in June 2020 after over 24 years of marriage, had originally been seeking half of his assets, but she was stymied by a prenuptial agreement that they had signed.
