Abba Kyari, a suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), who’s currently in the custody of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), over allegation of drug trafficking, has dragged the Federal Government to court over his continued detention.
He was arrested on Monday, February 14, by NDLEA for allegedly leading a cartel of drug barons operating Brazilian and Singapore networks.
According to DailyPost, in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/182/22, Kyari is seeking an order of court to immediately release him and wants the court to admit him to bail in liberal conditions.
Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo is expected to take the ex-parte application filed along with the suit any moment today, February 21, 2022.
