According to budding reports, Nigerian singer Rema’s scheduled show in Ethiopia have been canceled. Rema was supposed to play in Ethiopia on September 9, 2023, at the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Abeba. However, according to rumors, the hotel’s administration postponed the performance owing to religious considerations.
Rema’s recently released necklace, which featured an upside-down image of a church on fire and inverted crosses, resulted in the cancellation of his Ethiopian concert. According to accounts, the musician was accused of been demonic.
Based on reports, Rema’s performance was canceled by the Ethiopian people and the hotel because the image on his necklace offended the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church.
As a guest on Nigerian media phenomenon Daddy Freeze’s Instagram live program, a woman from Ethiopia recently commented on Rema’s postponed concert in her country.
According to her a press release was pushed out to that effect because Rema’s jewelry sparked concerns.
Her words are:
“They made a statement, like a press release in Ethiopia about Rema. Yes, you can imagine, it’s a very big deal.
“They’re basically saying he is worshipping the devil because of what he has on his neck. And to be honest, I never thought of it myself. And there’s more to it; to be honest.”
