The Enugu Zonal Command of The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), has arrested a middle aged man for allegedly brutalizing his children with dangerous weapons thereby inflicting serious injuries on them.
The man who gave his name as Johnson Monday Achiso was arrested at Ugwuaji area in Enugu Metropolis following a tip off by concerned members of the public within the area.
According to a statement by the agency, the suspect said to be a Togolese has been alleged of constant infliction of grievous harm on his children using a hammer, knife, and a rod.
As at the time of filing this report, the motive behind his action could not be ascertained.
However, while the children have been rescued and currently at the NAPTIP Shelter for comprehensive rehabilitation, the suspect is at the holding centre of the Agency undergoing further interrogation with the aim of unraveling the reason behind his grievous action.
