Although her fans didn’t see her exercise her civic responsibility, Nollywood Funke Akindele is emotional drained and revealed she’s in tears seeing so much bloodshed during Nigeria’s general election held yesterday, Saturday, February 23.
The actress in her post was wondering when Nigeria will ever grow past such violence during delicate moments.
Meanwhile, according to another veteran Nollywood actress, Hilda Dokubo the death rate at Rivers State is alarming.

How do I begin to convince myself that what should have been a day of celebration has become a day of mourning? When did choosing a leader become choosing to die. I thought our votes would count. I boasted and showed off my PVC like it was a certificate of honor, now it looks like a death sentence approval. Oh kalabari namatemeso, Wanada, Oputamuno, keleteinbo saki saki. How long shall we continue to suffer? How long shall we continue to bury our sons? How long shall our gates be opened with flood of tears? What a loss and they want us to come out again? To do what? So they will find the reason to sack our communities? My heart is broken, my eyes bloodshot from long hours of crying. Power oh power see what you have done! Only one question troubles me… why? How? Okirika, Ogu, Abonnema, Bonny, Opobo….why did they not take their bloodletting to their homes? Why have they turned ijaw communities to burial field?
