Ghanaian scammer arrested with 35k bank cards and 500k phone numbers

A Ghanaian fraudster who masterminded a scam which lured in victims with text messages, has been jailed for 33 months in the U.K.

24-year-old Emanuel Poku was caught with devices containing 500,000 phone numbers and 35,000 bank card numbers, linked to more than £2m of reported losses on devices.

The convict enjoyed luxury holidays in Paris and Mexico, while driving flash cars and taking helicopter lessons before he was caught.

He funded his luxury holidays by conning people out of their bank details in the industrial scale text message scam.
