The incumbent governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi seem not to be the ‘apple of his peoples’ eye’ as his party, the All Progressives Congress, lost in his polling unit to the opposition, the Peoples Democratic party in the governorship and State Assembly elections.
Ajimobi’s APC polled 112 votes while PDP amassed a total of 149 in the governorship election at the unit.
Recall that Ajimobi had on February 23, lost his senatorial bid to Dr Kolawole Balogun of the PDP. He has again lost his polling unit at Oluyole Community Grammar School, Oluyole, Ibadan.
Meanwhile, an Oyo State federal lawmaker, Honourable Temitope Olatoye, popularly known as ‘Sugar’ has been killed.
‘Sugar’ who was said to have been shot in the eye on Saturday was rushed to the University College Hospital in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for treatment.
The 47-year-old Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency of Oyo State representative reached the hospital in critical condition and doctors at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) battled to save his life but he eventually passed on.
