Hollywood Actress, Halle Berry is speaking candidly about love, commitment, and why she hasn’t accepted a marriage proposal from her longtime partner, Van Hunt.
In a recent interview with Today.com, the Oscar-winning actress revealed that although Van has popped the question, she’s not ready to take that next step—at least, not yet.
“I’ve been married before, and that experience makes me pause,” Berry, 58, shared. Her romantic history includes three previous marriages: to former baseball star David Justice (1993–1997), singer Eric Benét (2001–2005), and actor Olivier Martinez (2013–2016).
Berry and Hunt, a 55-year-old musician, have been together since 2020. While their relationship is strong and full of mutual respect, Berry admitted that her past has made her more cautious about walking down the aisle again.
Van, for his part, has taken the delay in stride. “I’ve made the proposal,” he said lightheartedly. “It’s still hanging out there, as you can see.”
Despite the proposal being on hold, the couple appears solid and happy—proving that love doesn’t always need a ring to be real.
