Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has responded to his unexpected removal from a Celestial Church praise night, emphasizing his commitment to perform after being paid N5 million for the event.
A recent announcement by a Lagos-based church revealed Portable and popular Fuji musician Pasuma as guest performers for an upcoming program, sparking anticipation.
However, Celestial Church leader Olatosho Oshoffa took to Facebook to declare the exclusion of Portable and Pasuma from the praise night, sparking controversy.
In a viral video addressing the situation, Portable expressed his determination to honor his commitment to the church event. He firmly stated,
“Celestial church, we must do the show, you have already paid me N5 million. Pasuma will perform, I will also perform, and we must do it. The children of God are coming. Land of Goshen Cathedral, please in God’s name, consider us as children of God, don’t judge me by my appearance.”
Portable’s response highlights his insistence on fulfilling the performance obligation, citing the payment received and urging the church not to dismiss him based on preconceived notions.
