Isaac Aloma, popularly known as ZicSaloma, a well-known skit maker and singer, revealed the challenges he faced within his family regarding his pursuit of an entertainment career.
According to ZicSaloma, his decision to enter the entertainment industry wasn’t well-received by his family, except for his mother. He recounted how his attempts to showcase his musical talent were constantly discouraged by his four older brothers during his upbringing. They went as far as destroying his music cassettes to deter him from pursuing music.
In a candid discussion with media personality Chude Jideonwo, ZicSaloma highlighted the lack of support from his family members even after he ventured into content creation. He emphasized that his brothers’ lack of belief in him contrasted sharply with the encouragement he received from his mother.
Recalling a significant moment when he was set to participate in a competition in South Africa, ZicSaloma shared his disappointment that none of his siblings supported him.
“It was only my mum that supported me. I remember when I was supposed to go for a competition in South Africa, I was supposed to go with two family and friends. So I took my mum, naturally, I am supposed to carry my siblings and I can not. Because none of them have ever supported me. I went with my friends,” he expressed.
Despite the lack of familial encouragement, ZicSaloma has risen in his career and now holds a pivotal role within his family, a stark contrast to the initial lack of belief in his talents by his siblings.
