Humility is a waste of time – Asake

Renowned singer Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, recently reflected on how his humility led some to take advantage of him in the past, suggesting that being excessively humble may result in disrespect.

In a circulating video on social media, Asake engaged in a candid conversation with friends, highlighting the belief that it’s preferable to possess a level of assertiveness rather than excessive humility. He conveyed that being overly humble might lead to being undervalued.

    Sharing his viewpoint, Asake stated,

“To me, humility is like a waste of time. People don’t appreciate it. At the end of the day, life is about your perception. That is how I think. It’s my world. I’ve been around people that I tried to let them see who I am, but they didn’t appreciate it.”

Drawing from his experiences, Asake remarked that in the music industry, excessive humility might result in people taking advantage of an artist.

He noted that displaying ego might create an impression of inaccessibility, leading others to value an individual more. He emphasized the importance of focusing on one’s craft rather than overly demonstrating humility.

Asake’s insightful perspective sheds light on the complexities of humility and how it’s perceived in different social contexts, especially within the entertainment industry.
