Popular preacher, Pastor E. Adeboye, in a public apology, apologized for his controversial statement regarding tithing and salvation.
According to a recent address, he admitted his error in previously saying, “If you don’t pay tithe, you won’t make it to heaven.” He acknowledged that his statement was incorrect and not in alignment with biblical teachings.
“I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible,” he clarified. He further explained that the Bible does not link tithing to entering heaven. Instead, he cited Hebrews 12:14, which says, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”
This verse emphasizes the importance of living in peace and pursuing holiness as a requirement to see God, rather than tithing.
With this apology, the preacher hopes to correct any misconceptions his earlier words may have caused and reaffirm the importance of adhering strictly to biblical truths.
