Music diva, Tiwa Savage has opined that she has tried commiting suicide twice as a result of racist comments she received during her stay in London.
during an interview with @ebuka on ‘bounce live radio’, she made this disclosure. she recounted being bullied as a black kid in London which led to the attempted suicide.
The mother of one also revealed that she was mocked so badly when she first visited London with her mother at the age of 10 because of her strong nigerian accent.
Her words:
“I was teased so bad. They used to call me ‘African girl’, ‘Foo foo’, ‘Your food smells’ and so on. It was terrible. It was so bad that I literally tried to kill myself two times. I was really depressed.”
