I just want what is mine – Harrysong calls out kcee for his due royalties

In a heartfelt plea on social media, Nigerian singer Harrysong, known for hits like “Reggea blues,” “Baba for the girls,” “Samankwe,” “Better Pikin,” and “Ofeshe,” urged fans to help him appeal to his former record label boss, Kcee, to release his due royalties spanning seven years.

Harrysong, also known as Harrison Tare Okiri, expressed frustration over Kcee allegedly withholding 100% of his royalties from these successful tracks. Despite their fallout in 2016, Harrysong implored Kcee to refund his money and fairly distribute the royalties, emphasizing his rightful ownership of the songs.

“Na beg I dey beg am,” Harrysong stated, acknowledging Kcee’s strong-willed nature, adding, “I know he likes to bully, he’s the Power Mike, help me beg him.”

The singer’s emotional plea highlights the disparity in royalties and the unfairness of not receiving what he rightfully earned from his music. He concluded by invoking divine intervention, praying that their hard work wouldn’t be exploited by another, saying, “May God not let us work, and another man just be reaping our hard end sweat in Jesus name.”

The appeal from Harrysong sheds light on the complexities artists might face concerning ownership and fair compensation within the music industry, urging for equitable treatment and recognition of artists’ contributions.
