Nigerian media personality and actress, Omotunde Adebowale-David, aka Lolo 1, has opened up about being raped by a male colleague in the broadcasting industry.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Say My Piece podcast, which she co-hosts, Lolo shared the emotional weight of the experience, revealing that the incident left her traumatised.
She explained that she cannot share full details due to fears of public backlash for not speaking out sooner, especially now that the perpetrator holds a prominent position in the industry.
“I have been raped only once in my life, and it was by a colleague,” she said. “I see him often, and each time, I go into a momentary panic. It’s been six years, but I’ve carried the tra¥ma in silence.”
Lolo also spoke about the emotional toll of s3xYal assault, highlighting the common reactions of denial and self-blame that many survivors face.
