President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has defeated his main challenger in Nigeria’s 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.
INEC Returning Officer Professor Toyin Ogundipe announced Buhari as the winner of the February 23rd election in the southwest state.
Buhari polled 347,674 votes while Atiku scored 337,377 votes, with the APC candidate leading with a margin of 10,297.
According to Ogundipe, Buhari won 18 of the 30 local government areas in the state while Atiku won 12.
