American rapper, Kanye West recently dropped his latest album, ‘DONDA,’ featuring appearances from Kid Cudi, Jay-Z, Lil Durk, The Weekend, Roddy Ricch, and more. The album, which was released on August 29, has found people on both sides of the fence with their reviews, but the actual album has hit #1, which makes Kanye the first artist to have 10 number one albums this century.
West’s album sales for his first week found him moving 309,000 equivalent album units in the United States for the week. This makes Kanye one of 7 artists with at least 10 number 1 albums in the history of the Billboard 200 chart. Some of the artists who fall in that category with West include Jay-Z, Eminem, Drake, Madonna, Taylor Swift, and The Rolling Stones.
As of now, Kanye West has only missed being number 1 on the charts with an album only one time, which happened with the release of his 2004 album ‘The College Dropout,’ which peaked at number 2 on the charts.
