The Kogi State Government has called on security agencies to hold Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan responsible if any v+olence erupts in the state following her recent homecoming rally.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, accused the Kogi Central senator of defying a government ban on political gatherings imposed by Governor Usman Ododo’s administration.
“She should be held accountable for her blatant attempts to incite v+olence and cause unnecessary tension,” Fanwo stated, alleging that the senator planned to use her visit to provoke unrest in Kogi Central.
He further claimed that Akpoti-Uduaghan “deliberately v+olated” the ban, which was enforced to maintain security and prevent breaches of peace.
Despite the restriction, the senator received a massive welcome from supporters and residents of the Ihima community in Okehi Local Government Area on Tuesday. By 8 a.m., crowds from the five LGAs of Kogi Central had already gathered to receive the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker.
