    La Mode Magazine enlightens entrepreneurs with Lamodepreneur

    A one day entrepreneurs program for fashion and beauty business owners tagged, “Lamodepreneur” has held in Lagos. Put together by La Mode Magazine, the event took place at the Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    Publisher/CEO of La Mode Magazine, Mrs Sandra Odigie, said the aim of the seminar was to promote, inspire, encourage and inform fashion and beauty entrepreneurs to make a difference in their businesses. The event also created a platform for participating entrepreneurs to connect, network and learn from different speakers on how to better their trades.

    Some of the speakers who graced the occasion are Mercy Makinde, John Obidi, Frank Oshodi, Derin Fagbure, and Victor Udo Ajufoh-Obi.

    Speaking on Financial Management in Business and how to maintain Customers, seasoned entrepreneur, writer. Speaker and MD/ CEO, Crested crane Tours and Travels, Mercy Makinde, said there are certain measures that should be taken to remain stable in business. According to her, “Entrepreneur should learn how to pay themselves salary to be enable them monitor their expenditures and personal upkeep. For me, I have just one account with my name and at the end of every month, I pay my salary into that account. I make expenses on myself from that account. This goes a long way to make me conscious of my finance, income and expenses.”

    Ms. Makinde also advised participants to learn to differentiate prices, based on where the potential client is coming from.

    ”If your client is coming all the way from the Island to the mainland, the price of her services shouldn’t be the same with that of the client staying close by. To remain in business, entrepreneurs should know how to please customers to make them stick with you.”

    The conference which sought to make entrepreneurs better at what they do, also addressed issues such as, good customer services, how to write proposals and package it well, how to get investors and how to use social media to one’s advantage in business.

    Bella Francis, a Fashion Designer and participant, commended the efforts of Ms Odigie for coming up with a project to help young and growing business women who often get confused in the line of businesses.

    “I’m into fashion and designs, but I can’t say I know it all. Nobody is an island of knowledge, that’s why I came here today to learn more and add to the ones I had already gathered. I really appreciate the efforts of the Publisher of La Mode Magazine making this happen.”
