    Lawmaker’s brother storms CBN with assault rifle

    Delta State Police department arraigned one younger brother of Chief Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor, the member representing Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly and candidate of PDP.

     

    Akpevwe had attempted to break into the Asaba branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with firearms and cart away sensitive electoral materials belonging to INEC.

     

    The Police, on Wednesday arraigned him before a Chief Magistrate Court in Asaba,, alongside two other suspects identified as Alfred Joseph and David Ukiri, for illegal possession of firearms.

     

    Akpevwe had allegedly made a confessional statement to the Police that his lawmaker brother gave him the gun and Sienna vehicle carrying the official number plate of the state House of Assembly with which he had gone to attack the bank.
