Francis Agoda, popularly known as IGoDye continues to lend voice in the figh against COVID-19, stressing the need to return to lockdown.
The comedian continue to expresse concern by the increase rates of COVID19 cases recorded each day in the Country.
He took to his IG page to share in a lengthy post,He wrote:
IF WE ARE NOT CAREFUL BEFORE JULY WE MIGHT GET TO 34720 CASES.
WE ARE AT WAR WITH A FACELESS ENEMY, AND THEREFORE CANNOT ALLOW SENTIMENTS, EMPATHY OR SYMPATHY TO DELUDE US OF THE FACTS BEFORE US.
I’m still in shock that federal government and some states have decided to relax the lockdown despite the increasing rate of Covid-19 cases across the country.
Must we expose ourselves to the prediction of those that have envisaged the tragedy ahead of our actions.
Few weeks ago, I wrote mr Mr President that if we are not careful enough in handling this Corvid -19 issue as at when the cases were 210 on April 5th, chances are that in two weeks, the figures could surpass 1000.
But as of May 2, there are 2170 cases and if we are not careful, the figures could skyrocket to 34720 before July , hence the need for all concerned to do everything to protect ourselves and others.
We are at war with a faceless enemy, and therefore cannot allow sentiments, empathy or sympathy to delude us of the facts before us.
The rate is alarming, there is no immediate cure,so why risk the lives of millions of citizens just to pretend all is well.
Please, I appeal to government at all levels to use our resources to feed all of us. People are hungry.
Pay some money into bank accounts of Nigerians, provide cheap and affordable means to survive, this is the response we need now.
My heart bleeds everyday. If only I can help the needy, let’s continue to share and help government to maintain lock down.
Lockdown remains the best solution for now. Going back to offices and opening of businesses might bring doom before us. May God protect us.
