Mawuli Gavor Biography: Everything You Need to Know

Mawuli Gavor: Early life and family

Mawuli Gavor was born in Accra, Ghana. He spent most of his adolescent age in the US where he obtained a degree in Business Management & Finance from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. His family chose the finance career path, however, Mawuli discovered how endearing his physique was (and still is) and he started modeling during his teenage ages.

When he returned to Ghana after his studies in the US, he picked up a job as an accountant in a big firm in Ghana and while he was busy crunching numbers, he was also doing modeling on the side. Soon, he became a brand ambassador for Martini and this contract ensured that he would be the face of the brand not just in Ghana but in Nigeria. More rewarding contracts came by and Mawuli joined the cast of “Hush” after his meeting Mnet crew, the makers of the show.

Mawuli has two siblings, a brother and a sister living in the USA.

    Mawuli Gavor: Career

Mawuli Gavor is a man of many parts; he is a well-trained accountant, a TV presenter, an actor, and a serial entrepreneur. After he reckoned that putting numbers together for some corporation in Accra wasn’t a gateway to financial fortune, Mawuli launched his acting career.

In an interview with Punch, he said “I always knew that I could act. I always knew I could do all of these things but the family I was born into was a ‘finance family’ so everyone studied Business and Finance.” The actor also disclosed that he attended some acting classes to polish his acting skills even though he had the talent.

He has appeared on Africa Magic “Hush”, as RMD‘s son, Tes, a role that ushered him into the heart of many Nigerian fans. He went on to reprise this role in “Battleground: Final Showdown” where he had an adulterous relationship with the character Ini Dima-Okojie. His role here was so intense he admitted that people block him on the way and rebuke him for “playing” the women.

He went on Mawuli has also appeared in films like “Obsession”, “Rumor Has It” and “PayDay”. One of his latest films came in 2018 when he appeared in the film “Chief Daddy” an erstwhile son of a multi-billionaire who included him in his will before his demise. The film is now available on Netflix.

Mawuli has worked as a TV presenter both in his home country Ghana and Nigeria. He is a presenter with Mnet’s Africa Magic’s “53 Extra”. Recently, the actor starred in a Jamaican film titled “Joseph”, his first major Afro-Caribbean collaboration. The film tells the story of a Jamaican guy connecting with his African roots.

Mawuli has made something out of his career in the entertainment industry to the surprise of many who doubted him. He owns a small production company that has produced two films so far. In 2018, he won the award of Best Kiss in a movie alongside Odera Olivia Orji at the Bon Awards.

He seems to be getting started in the entertainment industry and there’s no doubt the future looks very bright for him.

Mawuli Gavor: Relationships (with BBNaija Housemate(s)?)

If Mawuli Gavor were to upload a picture on Instagram and caption it “Single and searching” many ladies would fall on themselves to answer. The actor’s good looks cannot be hidden. However, his relationship status remains in a tight lid. Or perhaps not so tight as we have seen him in photos, kissing or hugged up, with 2018 Big Brother sensational housemate CeeC who posted these on her timeline.

The actor has stated that he believes in marriage and also revealed that his chances of marrying a Nigerian are high at the moment. Since he spent most of his time, due to his work, in Nigeria and having eaten Nigerian Jollof rice and probably knows inside his chest (though he may never say it out) that it is superior to that of his native Ghana, it is only normal if he ends up marrying a Nigerian girl.

He may have settled for CeeC. Only time shall tell.

And it seems like CeeC would have to contend with (or had contended with and won against) fellow Big Brother celebrity, Diane, who in June 2020, during a Reunion session, revealed she had had a thing or a crush or both with Gavor. During an episode in which Ebuka talked about relationships, Diane and Elozonam (Dialo) relationship came up. The conversation soon became heated and completely broke down when Ebuka asked this: “How much of a problem was Mawuli in this?”

    Diane walked out.

She returned later, in another episode, having gathered the courage or duly pacified or reminded of her terms of the contract to clear things up.

It seems we have not heard the last of this triangle with the potential of a minor to mid-level scandal.

    Net worth and other facts

Mawuli Gavor is not doing badly as an entertainer. His recent strides in the show business have not just made him famous but added some zeros to his bank account something that would take him years to achieve in the finance world. Although he has not made his net worth known, internet sources put his net worth to be around 1 million dollars. This figure is not bad.

The actor enjoys playing the guitar which he learned by watching YouTube videos. He was taught how to play the drums and the piano as a boy. When he is not acting, he is in the gym trying to keep that body in shape.
