    However, it wasn’t always this way in the past as those who wedded white men were seen as ‘unlucky’ people.”
    Increasingly, and in greater numbers, Nigerian female celebrities are breaking the barricade by marrying non-Nigerian men. In droves, they are marrying Caribbean nationals, White-Americans and African-Americans.  
    Here is a carefully selected list of top celebrities who against all odds found love in the arms of white men and equally embraced their foreign cultures.
     
    Tosyn Bucknor and Aurélien Boyer (French)
    Popularly called ‘Area Mama’ On-Air-Personality and singer, Tosyn Bucknor tied the knot with her long time French fiancé on Saturday, November 15, 2015.
    Tosyn Bucknor and Aurélien Boyer had their traditional wedding surrounded by happy family and friends.
    The event was planned by the Tosyn’s sister Funke Bucknor-Obruthe of Zapphaire Events and among the guest was Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Toolz & Sasha and more.
    The couple got engaged in August after dating for 2 years.

    Susan Peters and her dutch husband, Dr Croon tied the knot in the traditional way on Saturday, October 24, 201, in Benue State.
    Susan and her beau are said to have been friends for almost a decade before they decided to take their relationship to the next level.
    Susan and Dr Croon officially got married on Saturday 10th October 2015. The two love birds are still savouring their honeymoon.

    Karen Igho who found fame as the winner of Bog Brother Africa, got married in Jos on Saturday December 13th. The controversial diva got married to Yaroslav Rakos after they have dated for 9 years. Karen was later delivered of a son at the Mount Sinai Roosevelt hospital in New York on the 4th of July 2015.

    Indeed, it was a great turning point for the dark-skinned actress amidst the nude pictures scandal that almost cost her life.
    In fact, it was a shocking development that instantly wrecked the career of the sensational actress, who even threatened to commit suicide.

    How she is coping with foreign in-laws? Hear her, “I don’t have any problem with his family. My mother-in-law died when I had my daughter in 1998 and my father-in-law also died four years ago. They used to come and stay with us during Christmas period. I never had any problem with them before they died. My husband has only one sister who lives in Cyprus.”

I cannot honestly tell you that we’ve broken down every barrier of culture shock, but somehow we’ve tried to find our own meeting point to make sure that everything is balanced out.”

     Kate, the Cross-River State born actress got married in 1999 to a British born James Roderick Nuttal.  The couple had their daughter and only child Ella Nuttal in 2000.
    Unfortunately, the star actress and her British husband, Nuttal are no longer together. The multiple award-winning actress and Mr. Roderick parted ways amicably in November, 2011 following ‘irreconcilable’ differences and allegations anchored on infidelity. My husband and I before we got married we were together for like six years. Like any other relationships we had differences but off course we work them out. We got married and now have a son. I didn’t go out looking for an “oyinbo” to marry. It just happened, we met and became friends, love developed and we are married and happily too. My two previous relationships before I got married while I was in school they were Nigerian guys and we are still friends.     Oluchi Orlandi is a popular Nigerian international supermodel. She won the Face of Africa in 1998 and had also covered a lot of renowned magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Sports Illustrated for a record four times.  Oluchi, 35, is happily married to a 54-year-old popular Italian fashion designer, Luca Orlandi since August 2005. The happy union has produced two baby boys.  She is in the top list of celebrities who have sustained interracial marriages.
    When recently asked how she copes, she said “I have been married since 2005. I think it is just marrying your best friend more than anything.  A man that will understand you; a man that will support you in good and bad times. My husband is my best friend.     Albeit, Chioma is relatively unknown in some circles but was in the spotlight years back as one of the housemates of the one-off reality TV show, Koko Mansion.
