Men are scum? Gbenro Ajibade speaks on marrying actress, Osas Ighodaro just to get American passport

Tall, dark and handsome Nollywood actor, Gbenro Ajibade has countered series of accusations that he had married his colleague, Osas Ighodaro who is an American citizen, just to get a USA passport.
Although the marriage didn’t last up to four years and packed up, in an interview with Ebuka Obi -Uchendu of Rubbin Minds, Ajibade says: “Well, I know some people believed the marriage was arranged by me, so I can get a blue passport (American passport). But everyone is entitled to their opinions. They believed I have gotten what I wanted and opted out of the marriage. We were married for 4 years and now officially divorced. I don’t want to disclose the actual month we got divorced but it is this year.
If it was about the passport, believe me I wouldn’t go through all that process. Did traditional marriage, involve families, do a white wedding in New York. Do you know how much I spent? So, my intentions were way above the passport and all of that.
Our marital issues started when we started having kids.  I know why people came up with all of that, but that’s bullets I know I would collect. I wear shoes, I know what it feels like and always try to be that good, responsible man.”

On his relationship with his wife, he said, “we are still good. Back then, I tired to use my ranting about her on Instagram to call back her attention but unfortunately decisions were made and I had to agree, so we are good. You won’t understand. However, I still have that love and respect for her, regardless. She is still a good woman. The fact that it didn’t work out won’t make me say otherwise. If not for anything, we have a child, an innocent child.
That experience has taught me a lot about life. It has helped me become a better person.
I can still marry from the entertainment industry. The fact that my marriage crashed is not because we are both in the same industry.”
Also sharing his love for cooking, the fine boy actor says he learned the skills from his mum who made sure they as boys they were useful in the kitchen.
“I was out of Nigeria for months, but I didn’t miss the food much. This is because I can cook basically everything. I picked cooking from my mum. She had us cooking, pounding yams, cutting Okro. It has helped me know what to Cook and how to go about it.
I missed some jobs here in Nigeria because I needed to take care of my daughter who is also an American. I had to go flex, work and earn more money.”
