Monkey steals man’s iPhone and flees into the jungle

In a strange case of theft by primate, a man’s iPhone recently got stolen by a cheeky monkey who fled with it into the jungle, Dailystar UK reports.

Zackrydz Rodzi awoke one day in his Johor residence in Indonesia to find that his phone was nowhere to be found.

The primate had taken his phone while he slept and he thought he had been burgled, but couldn’t see any signs of a break-in.

The 20-year-old was even more confused to find his phone case under his bed but not his phone. After unsuccessfully trying to locate it with the Find My iPhone app, he attempted calling his iPhone on another device the following day which was a Saturday.

Rodzi was shocked to find his phone after hearing a ringtone coming from a jungle near his house.

It was muddied and lying under a palm tree, but otherwise undamaged.

Still in shock on how and why it was in the jungle, he looked through the phone’s camera roll to try and uncover more about the thief.

The pesky animal even unwittingly filmed itself trying to eat the phone.

Rodzi who found the incident amusing, shared the monkey’s selfie on Twitter on Sunday, September 13.

“I didn’t know there was a monkey living in my housing area but damn you monkey, you’ve made my life miserable for the past couple of days,” he captioned the post.

The student also revealed how tried to lure the “thief” with another phone, but the monkey burglar has yet to return.
