Nollywood actress turn politician, Funke Akindele has left netizens reacting to her interview with Channels Television.
The actress who stated during the interview that she has confident in her 20 million followers on social media to turn up for her.
She added that aside from her fans on social media, she has supporters at the grassroots level. In her words:
“I have these fans and followers. I feel their pains. I hear people nag. I watch TV; I feel their pain. I’m going out there to proffer solutions.”
“I’m going there for my fans, my followers, for Lagosians. It’s time for a change, for change for the youth, for women.”
“Over seven years, Dr. Abdul-Azeez has been building this structure. He knows them; he knows what they need.”
“I have the numbers. I have fans and followers. I’m true to myself. I have over 19 to 20 million fans on social media. There are a lot of people in the grassroots. Outside of Ikorodu, I have fans at the grassroots level everywhere.”
Netizens have however reacted to this, reminding the actress that social media is different from real life.
Reminding her that because they like her movie doesn’t mean they will vote for her in politics.
