Nigerian Police Deny Killing Alleged Cultist, Say He Died Of Asphyxiation

The Nigerian Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has responded to a viral video of a woman accusing the police of killing her son, Erasmus.

In his statement, ACP Adejobi clarified that Erasmus did not die due to police torture but of asphyxiation, as revealed by an autopsy.

The autopsy was conducted in the presence of the deceased’s family’s doctor.
Erasmus, who was a cultist and had been implicated in many crises and alleged killings of innocent Nigerians, was arrested for allegedly raping and killing a young lady in the company of his friend. The case was an old one and was handled by the Force Headquarters.

ACP Adejobi expressed his condolences for Erasmus’s death, stating that it was unfortunate as the police needed him to solve some pending cases in the area.

He urged Nigerians to always have an objective perception and understanding of cases before criticizing the police
