Gerard Pique is closed to leaving Barcelona after the club’s Champions League campaign ended in disastrous defeat to Bayern Munich.
The 33-year-old defender who joined the club back in 2008–09, has urged due-teammates to leave the club after finishing trophyless first time in 12 years, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Barcelona lost the La Liga title to Real Madrid and Copa del Rey to Valencia.
According to a post seen on the official website of the club, read below:
“We have hit rock bottom. You can’t compete like that. You can’t do that in Europe. And it’s not the first time, or the second, or the third. It’s very tough. I hope it serves for something. Now we all need to think. The club needs changes. Nobody is indispensable, and I’ll be the first to offer to leave if we need to bring in new blood. I’ll be the first to go. We all need to reflect internally and work out what’s best for the club.”
