Popular On-Air Personality, OAP, Do2dtun has blasted South Africa singer, Tyla, following her acceptance speech at the 2024 VMA Awards.
Tyla, who was nominated alongside Tems, Ayra Starr, Davido and Burna Boy, won the Best Afrobeats Award.
Speaking at the event, Tyla expressed displeasure in the grouping of African artistes under the Afrobeats label, despite the genre’s significant influence and success.
She further claimed to be an Amapiano singer and not Afrobeats.
In reaction to her comment in a series of posts on his X handle, Do2dtun slammed her for receiving an award which didn’t represent her art, considering her Amapiano claim.
